Dream Tech Academy Welcomes Kendall Rae Johnson for a Special Gardening Kick-Off

On March 12, 2025, Dream Tech Academy had the incredible honor of hosting Kendall Rae Johnson—the first certified child farmer in Georgia and a published author. Thanks to our partnership with The Healthy Communities Action Team (HCAT) in Petersburg, our students were treated to an inspiring and hands-on gardening experience.

Kendall captivated our young learners with a reading from her book, sparking excitement and curiosity. Following the reading, students rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty, learning how to plant and grow vegetables from seed. It was the perfect way to launch our spring Gardening Exploration class!

Each student received a personal seed starter kit, complete with tomato and carrot seeds, giving them the opportunity to begin their own gardening journey at home. This unforgettable day planted more than just seeds—it planted inspiration.
